Based in Los Angeles, designer Sasha Emerson is known for her playful and free-spirited work. Her signature mix of modern and vintage furnishings, colorful textiles and bold use of eccentric art and accessories, give her designs a distinctive sense of whimsy. In her ten years of design work, Emerson has worked on scores of residences, offices, product designs and design magazine producing and styling. She has also been an integral part in the creation of a number of successful businesses, designing the interiors for Knit Cafe, HomemadeBaby and Scribble Press, as well as the South Park production offices. Emerson is widely published in design and lifestyle magazines and books. She was also the West Coast Editor of Budget Living magazine. Although her work is primarily on the West Coast, Emerson has completed residences in NYC, Fire Island, Sagaponack, Westport, Jackson Hole, Banff and Western Massachusetts. Her family friendly designs have also been featured on numerous design shows, including multiple episodes of House Beautiful on A&E. A New York City native, Emerson graduated from Brown in 1981 and received her MFA from Yale in 1984. After a fifteen year film and television career as an executive at HBO and New Line Cinema, Emerson co-founded the design store ORANGE, and then launched her studio in 1998. She is married to writer Larry Levin and is the mother of three girls, Eden, Sophie and Isabel. The family lives in Santa Monica, California.
